John (“Jack”) Harris is a partner residing in HFK’s Delaware office. He has nearly 25 years of experience counseling and litigating on behalf of clients in complex corporate and commercial disputes in the state and federal courts of Delaware, particularly the Court of Chancery. Over his career, Jack has represented both individual and institutional clients, including several past and present members of The Fortune 500, in connection with a wide array of complex matters, involving M&A litigation, corporate governance, alternative entities, fiduciary duties, restrictive covenants, business torts, among others. A seasoned trial lawyer, Jack has acted as lead trial counsel in over a dozen cases. Jack has also been recognized as one of the “Best Lawyers in America” for 2024.
Before joining HFK, Jack was the co-founding partner of the former Delaware firm Berger Harris LLP. Prior to that, Jack was a partner of the Global 100 law firm, Reed Smith LLP.
After law school, Jack served in consecutive judicial clerkships, first with the Honorable George L. Seltzer of the New Jersey Superior Court and the following year with the Honorable William L. Witham, Jr. of the Superior Court of Delaware.
